I’m not a bandwagon kind of gal most of the time, but occasionally there’s something that is so funny that I can’t resist. That is the case with Jon Stewart and his parody of Mitch McConnell.
In case you missed it, last week Stewart transformed an awkwardly awful campaign advertisement into hilarious fun by dubbing random songs behind it. (You can watch it by clicking on the image below.)
He then invited viewers to do the same.
You should make your own #mcconnelling video because, according to Jon Stewart, “it’s fun as s**t!” Internet magic: http://t.co/H9IycdQUQC

As I sat in front of my computer geared up to do my weekend writing, I remembered his call to action and diverted my focus to doing just that, or at least my riff on it.
The McConnell video didn’t inspire a song but a movie instead. I think it begged to be redeemed Shawshank style.
Hey @TheDailyShow: It works with movie narration too: http://t.co/rFKPUU6ScD #mcconnelling #shawshankredemption

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I think it stops being funny about 30 seconds in, but I love the opening line and his little smile after Morgan Freeman says “bag of reefer.”
