“Awkward Laughter” is what happens when you let a klutzy freak magnet (that’s me) loose on the world and then give her a platform to write about it.

My love of telling tales about the kooky happenings of everyday life began pre-kindergaten:

“My mommy ran me over with her car.” – Me, age 4

I dropped that one liner on a random woman in the mall as my poor mother cringed nearby. (To be clear, she didn’t run me over intentionally.)

My words transformed that stranger into a captive audience, and I was hooked. I’ve been sharing stories ever since.

Who I Am
I’m a marketing and PR professional with former lives as a TV journalist, a computer consultant, and even an insurance auditor. Home is in Gainesville, Florida, (Go Gators!) but I’ve lived everywhere from Washington, DC, and Northern Maine to hotels across the U.S.

Why I Write
I’ve been a word nerd and wannabe novelist for as long as I can remember. I started this blog to become a more disciplined writer and because I truly believe that most things in life are humorous, even when they shouldn’t be.
